We've learned that Wednesday night's SWAT standoff in east Charlotte stemmed from a robbery at a nearby bank. Niyo McGee, 25, is facing charges related to a robbery at a Bank of America branch in Charlotte, North Carolina. He allegedly followed a man out of the bank and attacked him, stealing his cash, leading to a SWAT standoff. McGee was barricaded inside a home for several hours before police took him into custody. The robbery occurred around 2:40 in the afternoon. McGee is charged with felony common law robbery.
