Protest erupts over corporate landlords in Charlotte

Sandra De Lossantos, who said she is being evicted two weeks early, said she is running out time to find a home. Sandra De Lossantos, a resident in Charlotte, has been evicted two weeks early and has no time left to find a home. This comes after she invested a significant amount of time and money repairing her property after requests from the landlord went unanswered. Delossantos has been there for seven years and has never missed a payment. The eviction comes after a disagreement over the repair, which De Lossants believe is a form of exploitation. "It's insane and really unfortunate that we are having to deal with these predatory landlords," a resident at the event said.

Sandra De Lossantos, who said she is being evicted two weeks early, said the support meant a lolt to her, but still, she is running out time to find a home.

"They initially said they were going to renew my lease, now I'm having to leave involuntarily," De Lossantos said.

"We have been here seven years, and we have never missed a payment," De Lossantos shared.

De Lossantos said this upsetting news came after she's invested a lot of time and money repairing her property after requests to the landlord went unanswered.

"We told the landlord that we fixed the issues, and their only response was 'Good, if you want to repair it, then do it,'" De Lossantos recalled. "So now, we are saying, if you want us to continue investing, then give us the house."
