A new locally owned fitness studio called Physoulcal Fitness and Wellness is now open in the Mountain Island neighborhood of northwest Charlotte. Why it matters: Physoulcal introduces a boutique fitness studio to an area of Charlotte that hasn't yet experienced the fitness industry boom seen in neighborhoods like South End or SouthPark.

What to expect: A mix of yoga, barre and mat classes — from strength workouts to slow flows, owner Caitlin Yourish tells Axios.

• Yourish has taught barre and yoga around Charlotte since 2018, but this the first studio she's ever owned.

• Physoulcal's signature class is the "Drip and Flow," an interval-based strength workout with some aspects of yoga that's heated to around 85 degrees.

My thought bubble: I took the Soul Flow class taught by Caitlin. It's a slower vinyasa flow that felt like an hour-long deep stretch, both physically and mentally. The playlist is fire, too (here's the proof).

Stop by: Find Physoulcal at 3611 Mt Holly-Huntersville Road in Callabridge Commons, next to Wake Coffee Co.

• Classes begin most mornings at 6am. Check out the full schedule here.

• New members can get two weeks of unlimited classes for $40.
