To battle a mouse infestation in the barn of her North Dakota farm, Kari Warberg Block ending up challenging an industry where 98% of pest control solutions were poison and kill methods. Kari Warberg Block, a North Dakota mom, developed a $20M pest repellent company after discovering a plant-based pest control solution to a mouse infestation on her farm. Her company, EarthKind, now operates in 35,000 stores and has sold over 60 million products, including the only EPA-registered botanical rodent repellant. The company has reduced consumer reliance on toxic pest control methods from 98% to 88%. Products are sold at major retailers such as Lowe's Home Improvement, Ace Hardware and O'Reilly Auto Parts. Block has become a voice for inventors, entrepreneurs and for sustainable living. Her book, Gathering Around the Table: A Story of Purpose-Driven Change through Business, will be released in 2021.
