CAT’s Gold Line temporarily suspended for annual Fall rail maintenance
The shutdown is necessary to perform scheduled construction and maintenance work across the Gold Line alignment. The Charlotte Area Transit System (CAT) has temporarily suspended Gold Line service from Oct. 24 to Oct. 26 as part of its annual fall rail maintenance. The Blue Line will continue operating on its regular weekend schedule. The suspension is necessary to perform construction and maintenance work across the Gold Line alignment, which will require full road closures between French Street and the I-77 overpass, and additional lane closures along the full length of the route. CATS will not operate a bus bridge during the outage, but passengers can access existing CATS bus routes. Gold Line will resume regular operations at 4 a.m. Monday, Oct.26.
