The hottest day in North Carolina was July 8, 2003, when the last recorded 90-degree day was July 7, according to the National Association of Americana Meteorologists. Alongside the increased heat and humidity, watch for possible spotty storms Sunday through early next week.

(PINPOINT WEATHER) — Tuesday was another great Carolina weather day! Humidity stayed low, and temperatures were near normal for this time of year. We have another pleasant night tonight as temps fall into the upper 50s and low 60s.

Wednesday is when it starts to get a little hotter. Still, the humidity won’t be too bad yet. Highs will reach the mid and upper 80s, and it’s looking like we’ll officially hit 90 (or above) by the end of the week. The heat is coming! Charlotte has yet to hit 90 degrees. The latest first 90-degree day was July 8, 2003.

Along with the increased heat and humidity this Father’s Day weekend, we’ll also see the return of shower and storm chances. Watch for some possible spotty storms Sunday through early next week.
