‘Difficult’: Lazy 5 Ranch says safety is top priority after deadly horse fall in Mooresville
The ranch said it will continue to take responsibility for its guests seriously during this “difficult time.” The Lazy 5 Ranch in Mooresville, North Carolina, has stated that safety is a top priority following a deadly horse fall on Oct. 17. The incident occurred during a wagon ride when a tree limb fell and hit the side of the wagon, leading to a jump that threw three passengers off. Eddie Quesenberry, one of the three passengers, died after suffering serious head trauma. A GoFundMe page started by Quesensberry seeks help with medical expenses for his mother and aunt, who were also hospitalized. The horses involved were unharmed and returned to work. This is the first horse-drawn wagon incident to require an overnight hospital stay, with nearly 3 million guests riding since opening in 1993.
