Michelin Guide 2026 honors Charlotte restaurants as among the best in the South
Counter- retains its star, while a few newcomers join the list of restaurants where you’ll get an exceptional experience. The 2026 Michelin Guide American South has awarded Charlotte restaurants as among the best in the South. The award was presented in Nashville, with five newcomers joining the inaugural crowd as outstanding places for locals and travelers to eat. Executive chef Sam Hart of Counter-, led by Hart, retained its Michelin Star and the innovation-driven team at Counter- in West Charlotte. The biggest new honor went to chef Hector Gonzalez-Mora of B-Side Group’s The Story of Mi Cariño, who at age 34 won the 2026 Michaellin Young Chef Award. Other notable restaurants included Lang Van in Charlotte, which was named North Carolina’�s newest Bib Gourmand.
