State and local leaders have indicted 25 people on 129 counts for the alleged drug trafficking operation, dubbed "Duffle Bag Boyz". The operation, which was based across Chester and Lancaster counties, seized two and a half pounds of fentanyl and nearly seven pounds of methamphetamine, cocaine, and marijuana. Counseling Services of Lancaster has seen client numbers increase by over 20% over the last year. The Chester County Sheriff’s Office reported a decrease in substance fatality rate in 2024 and the increase in overdose deaths in recent months.
