Highs will reach the mid and upper 80s, and it’s lookin… The weather is set to get hotter in Charlotte, with temperatures reaching the mid and upper 80s and potentially reaching 90 by the end of the week. This is expected to be the hottest day in Charlotte since July 8, 2003. The city has yet to hit 90 degrees, with the latest being July 8 in 2003. Alongside the increased heat and humidity, expect a return of shower and storm chances for Father's Day weekend, watch for possible spotty storms.

CHARLOTTE (QUEEN CITY NEWS) – Wednesday is when it starts to get a little hotter. Still, the humidity won’t be too bad yet.
Highs will reach the mid and upper 80s, and it’s looking like we’ll officially hit 90 (or above) by the end of the week. The heat is coming! Charlotte has yet to hit 90 degrees. The latest first 90-degree day was July 8, 2003.
Along with the increased heat and humidity this Father’s Day weekend, we’ll also see the return of shower and storm chances. Watch for some possible spotty storms Sunday through early next week.
